Labor unions are a vital component of the offshore wind industry. Electricians, crane operators, carpenters, ironworkers, among many other skilled laborers build the critical infrastructure necessary for offshore wind. Furthermore, labor unions facilitate training programs and promote apprenticeship opportunities, empowering workers to advance into highly skilled, family-sustaining careers. But knowing how to access and navigate these opportunities can be difficult for the uninitiated.

In the anticipation of the upcoming Offshore Wind & Union Apprenticeship Awareness Open House scheduled for March 14, 11am-2pm, this prep session will cover:

• The run of show for the open house and how to make the most of the networking opportunity
• Provide an overview of the unions involved in offshore wind, and the who’s who of the locals, apprenticeship, and pre-apprenticeship programs
• Discuss how to make the best first impression at the open house
